The Akron Aviators men’s minor league basketball team are collecting new, unwrapped toys at their next home game, Saturday, December 20.

The Aviators play the Rochester Royal Ballers, Saturday, December 20, at the Innes Community Learning Center gymnasium, 1999 East Avenue, Akron, OH. Doors open at 5:30pm and tickets are $10 for adults and just $5 for students. All donors will be entered into a drawing for a FREE VACATION as a thank you for their donation to a child in need.

Members of The Salvation Army, Summit County Area Services, will be on hand to greet fans and collect any toys for discount admission. “The toys Aviators fans bring to the game will enable us to help families in our Christmas distribution of care packages of food and toys.” said (ret.) Lt. Col. James Reynolds previously.  “We serve families who otherwise would not have anything under the tree if not for your help.”

It’s so important to us that we can give something to the children of Akron, especially this time of year,” says Aviators co-founder and owner, Brian “Essince” Collins. “The magic of the holidays shouldn’t be lost to a family due to hardship and I’m really happy we can help the Salvation Army give back to the kids.
