Akron men’s professional basketball team, the Akron Aviators are teaming up with the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank to collect donations before their next home game this Saturday. The team is looking to collect canned foods and other non-perishable food items and are offering discounted admission to the game. The Aviators will be hosting the Beaver County Indians, a new expansion team, this Saturday, November 16th at Hyre Community Learning Center in Akron, OH. The doors open at 6:30 PM for a 7 PM tip-off.

“We’re really excited to be working with the Akron-Canton Food Bank. It’s so important to give back to our community especially around this time of year. It’s easy to forget how fortunate we are and also how easy it is to help someone in need.”

Brian “Essince” Collins, Owner/Co-Founder, Akron Aviators

The Aviators boast exciting and affordable basketball and entertainment for the whole family. Tickets start at just $5 for all students and $10 for adults. All fans who bring a non-perishable food item will receive $2 off admission. One discount per fan. All home games are played at Hyre CLC – 2385 Wedgewood Dr, Akron, OH.

It is important to us as a team and individuals to be able to do our part whenever we can. We wish to use this team as a platform not only for entertainment but to help better our city and surrounding areas. We look forward to other collaborations with foundations and charities in our area throughout our season. We want Akron to be known for its great Sports but also as a community that has each other’s back.”
