The Akron Aviators host the visiting Shizuoka Gymrats from Japan Saturday, February 4th at the Mason Community Learning Center. Tickets starting at just $5 for students and $10 for adults. Doors open at 6:30pm with a 7:00pm tip-off.

The Gymrats, run by Takuya Okada, play out of Shizuoka, a city located on the Pacific coast of Japan. After taking 2 seasons off, the Gymrats, Asia’s only ABA team, make their annual 3 week tour of the US, playing teams from across the country. They run a training camp and program in Japan and help develop many of Japan’s next basketball stars.

“This is our third time hosting the Gymrats. It’s a huge honor that of all the teams they ask to come play us. I spent time in Japan on a few tours and other events in the music business and it’s a beautiful culture. I look forward to this game every year.”

Brian “Essince” Collins, Aviators Co-Founder/Co-Owner
