In the last game of the 2021-2022 season, Malik Billingsley crossed the 1,000 point threshold and announced his retirement. This Saturday, January 7th, 2023, he will officially return to the court against our neighbors, the Ohio Bruins of Columbus.

During his retirement, Malik continued to play in local pro-am, winning the local CBL championship with 2 former Aviators, Josh Keyes and Josh Fontes. He currently coaches at Penn State University Shenango.

“What made me what to come out of retirement was just the love I have for playing and being apart of something bigger than just myself. To help some of the younger guys grow and see them chase their dreams. One time I was in the shoes of some of the first year players and just wanting to be apart of something but didn’t know where I fit in at. Coming back gives me a chance to connect with some of those guys. I’m really excited to be back in the ABA and playing for the home team. Such a young and exciting core that are hungry for success, adding a few pieces really helped make this decision easy. Brian did a lot for my career, he is my agent, my brother and mentor so being apart of anything he’s doing it’s not for me it’s for him and the guys!!!!”
